The organisation seeks to implement programmes that offer long term solutions to the problem of survival for a much broader base of creative talent. It seeks to promote the growth of a vibrant and economically viable artistic community that has the inherent capacity to create wealth and goodwill for itself and for the nation.

Sarthi's objectives concentrate on broad issues such as development of new artists' settlements and upgradation of existing ones, formulation of appropriate training curriculae, exposure to innovations, provision of legal and financial advice for copyrights, taxes, etc.,imparting self mangerial and marketing skills and helping circumvent middlemen, organisation of health surveys and specialised camps, and health and hygiene training programmes, formulation of specific schemes for women and children, provision of insurances and help in instilling pride in time-honoured skills and profession.
